Check out what we are learning in...
- Math- My math class will begin working on various geometry and division skills. Students should be working on their math facts- it is so important that they know them fluently especially as we continue to practice our operational skills with larger numbers.
- Reading- We will continue to work on out summarizing skills for non-fiction texts. We have been doing a lot of work finding the main idea and details so we will be using those skills to help with our summarizing.
- Writing- This week we will begin a comparing and contrasting piece on a topic of the students choice. We will discuss how to organize our information and various components that go into this type of essay.
- Science/Social Studies- We will be learning about the ideas of weathering, erosion and deposition. Students will take notes and draw illustrations, complete hands-on activities and take a final test to show their understanding of the information.
- Word Study: Students will get new lists this week.
